Hello ChumS with SumS Families!

I am excited to introduce myself as the co-leader of ChumS with SumS Potchefstroom with Ane. My name is Janél Coetzee, and with 12 years of experience as Math teacher, I bring an infectuous passion for Math to our classroom. For me, Math is more than numbers and equations – it is a world of exploration, inquiry, and endless possibilities that I can’t wait to share with your children.

I live on a farm with my two small adventurers, my 6-year old boy and 3-year old daughter. We are an outdoors family, always exploring nature, getting our hands dirty, and we cherish every moment of family time, which I believe is the most precious time. This love of exploring spills into my teaching, where it is my mission to make Math a subject that your kids will LOVE. I want them to look forward to every lesson, eager to dive in, discover, and grow.

My motto is: “The only way to fail at Math is to stop trying. Keep going and you will surprise yourself.” I am here to inspire your kids to take on challenges, explore new ideas, and build confidence in their abilities. It is my dream to help each learner achieve their dreams, one Math adventure at a time. I am so excited to work with Ane and you all to make this a time of learning and growth!
